My wife worked for a lady named Marcella Rabwin transcribing her memoirs of working/living in Hollywood. I believe it eventually became the book "Yes, Mr. Selznick: Recollections of Hollywood's Golden Era". Once her stories were recorded as drafts, my wife wasn't involved with the project any longer, but still kept in touch with Mrs. Rabwin for a few years before she died.
Anyway, Mrs. Rabwin worked as David O. Selznick's Executive Assistant. She knew and/or was friends with anyone who was anyone during Hollywood's golden era. She and her husband were close friends with the Hitchcock's.
I interviewed her over the phone for a paper I had to write for a film history course in college. Maybe that would mean I'm just one degree away from Hitchcock. Since I never had the opportunity to meet Mrs. Rabwin in person, I don't think it counts.
