QotD: Books From My Childhood
What books did you love as a child?

I was really into Dr. Seuss, Richard Scarry, and Maurice Sendak. Thinking back on it, I don't think it was for the stories as much as it was for the art. I did my best attempt to copy their styles (and a few others too) and really that is where I discovered that I could draw.
Thy Friend, Obadiah is a book that my parents say that I liked. I remember the book, but not really the story. I have a feeling that the illustrations were something I appreciated.
My child will be introduced to all of these, but I'm going to throw some Edward Gorey and Gris Grimley in there too for good measure.
