I still haven't seen this movie. I will, though.
I do remember seeing the poster in the local mom and pop video rental shop back in the day. The image of Santa descending into the chimney with an arm sticking out holding an axe will forever be burned into my mind. It is for that reason that I must see this movie... and probably why I haven't to date.
Why have I not heard of this movie?
It has now been moved to the top of the Netflix queue for almost immediate viewing.
I haven't read any of the books. I pride myself on not being part of the Potter-mania. I've enjoyed the movies and I'm sure I'll enjoy the books. I've been burned too many times by movies leaving out parts of the books or changing things in the books (I hated the first Jurassic Park movie because of this). On top of this, everyone I know who has read the books says that I will really like them. That makes me have a pretty high expectation of the books and I doubt that they really are *that* great.
So I don't care who fights who and who lives and who dies and all of that. That's probably a good thing because like the Soprano's ending, I doubt that I would be able to avoid any spoilers.
Here is Keith Olbermann's theory on the series end. According to the resident Potter expert (the wife), this all makes sense. To me, I don't know anything about half of what he is talking about.
I don't really think there are any spoilers here. He talks about events and things from the previous books to build his case.
The movie is going to suck so bad.
Thanks Michael Bay.
What's your favorite holiday movie?
Here are 2 of my favorite Christmas movies that most people forget are Christmas movies:
Gremlins:
Die Hard
And I'm a fan of the horrendously fun "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" (this one requires close friends and a lot of bourbon to enjoy):
The obvious ones I probably share with everyone (Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, etc.).
What comedian makes you pee your pants laughing?

Pretty much anyone who was featured in The Aristocrats.
